Stages of Re-Engaging In-Person Ministry

Dear Friends of YFC,

We cannot thank you enough for the faithful support you have shown us throughout the pandemic. As we move toward re-engaging in-person ministry with teens, we are proceeding with discernment and at all times we will follow Federal, State, and Local guidelines. Stage 1 and Stage 2 of our re-engagement plan are outlined as follows:

Stage 1 of re-engaging in-person ministry with teens (in effect June 15):
At YFC SoIN we care about teens and understand their need for healthy connection. In this unique season, we are committed to building authentic relationships as we help teens succeed in every area of life. To safely re-engage with in-person connections we are focused on smaller shared experiences outdoors where we can maintain appropriate safety precautions.

Steps we are taking to maintain a safe approach for these shared experiences:
Allow students to participate only if parents/guardians give permission and feel comfortable with connections
Keep all shared experiences to a small group (15 or less)
Hold shared experiences outdoors
Encourage social distancing during activities
Leaders and students will not be allowed to participate in connections if experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19
Hand sanitizer available for hand washing before, during, and after shared connections

Phase 2 of in-person ministry with teens (this will correlate with Governor Holcomb's announcement that our area has moved into Stage 5 of his "Back on Track" plan):
When we move into this final stage we will allow some adjustments in our approach while maintaining many of our precautions from Stage 1 above:

Increased group size for participation (50 or less)
Addition of appropriate indoor locations for connection
Additional flexibility in the transportation of students/leaders with masks
Additional flexibility in serving of shared food with proper precautions

We covet your prayers as we enter into these phases of re-engaging with teens in-person. We are expectant of all that God will do in the days ahead.

Blessings,

Kevin Becht
